Regional Delegation for Europe and CIS
Bice Regional Delegation for Europe and CIS acts as a platform of exchange and reflection and a catalyst to promote and protect the rights of children in CIS and Eastern Europe.
With its local partners the Regional Delegation organises and supports exchange of experiences and know-how on specific issues in order to reinforce the knowledge of professionals and those who are in regular constacts with children.
In all its actions, the Delegation fosters training of trainers and contributes to the large dissemination of good practices.
This guarantees an effective and long-lasting impact on society. It ensures the sustainability of these good practices through sensitising and convincing the public authorities to implement them.
Currently the Delegation for Europe and CIS mainly acts for children with disabilities, children in conflict with the law and children victims of sexual abuse.
Project
Prevention of sexual abuse against children and assistance to sexually abused children in CIS and Latvia Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Latvia, Moldova, Kazakhstan This project aims at reinforcing the capacities of children to resist to threats of abuse, to train child professionals to detect risks and address abused children to adapted services and to train specialists to support child victims. |

A testimony on disabled children in Russia by Olga ErokhinaIn Russia, children with multidisabilities were long regarded as uneducable. Today, most of them are still institutionalized from their earliest years in state-run orphanages in which they do not receive any adequate care or treatment.

November 2008 : Publication of a handbook on the care of children with multidisabilities in Russian orphanagesAs part of the project "Humanization and Opening of Orphanages for disabled Children in Russia", the Regional Delegation for Europe and CIS published a handbook entitled "Ideas and methods for the Rehabilitation of a department for children with PIMD : The Sergyev Possad orphanage experiment 2006-2008".

Meeting in Paris for 2 Russian partners, at the occasion of Bice General Assembly in june 2008At the occasion of Bice General Assembly in Paris the 4th and 5th June 2008, the Regional Delegation for Europe & CIS organises for 2 of its Russian partners several meetings on 3rd, 5th and 6th June on the topics ‘Taking care of children and adolescents with addictions' and ‘Autistic children'.
