As part of the project, "Prevention of sexual abuse of children and assistance to sexually abused children in CIS and Latvia" every partner organization has to implement a mini project that puts into practice their newly acquired knowledge.
The NAN Foundation decided to work with the
Grain of Sand approach. The purpose of
this initiative is to develop, film and distribute a prevention movie that would be a tool to deter and fight violence among youth.
For this, a training seminar led by Patrick Hauvuy and Jean-Marie Bighelli, who both worked on the French version of Grain of Sand 15 years ago, took place in Kvartal (NAN Shelter/Crisis Centre for children with addictions) in April 2009.
The seminar gathered more than 20 persons: psychologists, social workers and children who will take part in the development and filming of the movie.
Another partner organization, "Civic Initiative" from Zlataoust, also attended this seminar since a part of their project will be dedicated to Grain of Sand as well.
The Russian Grain of Sand movie will be widely distributed and showed primarily in orphanages and juvenile penitentiary centres but also in middle and high schools.
