Bice projects in CIS, by themes...
Since 1992, the Regional Delegation for Europe and CIS implements projects targeting the blooming of disabled children living at home or in institutions.
It supported parents' organisations (in Poland, Ukraine, Lithuania and Russia) and a pilot Day Care Centre in Moscow (Centre for Curative Pedagogy) that performs a remarkable work to develop and rehabilitate polyhandicapped children. The Delegation has promoted the diffusion of CCP good practices all over Russia.
Lately, it organised two seminars for professionals from Armenia, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Russia and Ukraine on innovative communication methods with autistic children of the French Centre IPPA (Institut de Psychopédagogie Appliquée).
Since 2006, the Delegation intervenes in Russian orphanages for children with disabilities.
Since 1994, the Regional Delegation has been promoting the development of a juvenile justice in line with international standards in the Baltic States and in Russia.
Favouring supporting measures and social reintegration of young people instead of repressive measures (like detention):
Several sensitisation seminars, multidisciplinary training sessions and study visits have been organised for professionals from Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia (police officers, social workers, prosecutors and probation officers). Following these rewarding exchanges, new measures passed in Estonia. Since 2006, Bice is also present in Russia.
Prevent at-risk children from violence:
From 2003 to 2006, two projects promoting an education based on « living values » were implemented in Estonia (« Living values » Programme).
In 2000, the Delegation for Europe and CIS implemented a regional project against child sexual abuse with a dozen of partner organisations from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Latvia and Uzbekistan. Within the framework of this project, an unprecedented survey conducted by young people contributed to gather key information on child sexual abuse in the whole area.
Called upon to become actors of change, young people designed and implemented themselves local projects promoting prevention of sexual abuse.
The present project is the continuation of this initial initiative which has been enlarged to other areas and other problematics.
