Objective:
Promoting and supporting social-educational measures in favour of children in conflict with the law in Russia with the diffusion of programmes of restorative justice in Perm and Novosibirsk, in particular "Family Group Conferencing".
Thanks to the concept of "Family Group Conferencing", the victim, his offender and their respective family have a leading role in the research of solutions and the repair of the damage done. This process, with the support of professionals taking in charge children in conflict with the law, contributes to restore intrafamilial links.
Activities:
• Training sessions on various aspects of restorative justice for judges and child professionals of Perm and Novosibirsk with the intervention PCLJR (Public Centre for Legal and Judicial Reform):
In 1997, the PCLJR, Bice partner, was the first instance to promote the application of restorative justice for children in Russia, mainly Moscow.
• 3 training sessions on a particular aspect of restorative justice: the Family Group Conferencing (FGC) for professionals from Perm, Novosibirsk, Volgograd, Uray, Murmansk and Moscow with the intervention of Eigen Kracht Centrale, Dutch NGO.
• Pilot projects implementing restorative justice in Perm and Novosibirsk.
• Diffusion of these practices:
- Elaboration of a hand book identifying and listing the good practices of restorative
justice in Russia.
- Translation into Russian of a book in English on conflict resolution.
- Diffusion of these materials to professionals from various regions of Russia.
- Presentation of the projects' results to high judicial instances of Russia.
